Thu 30 Nov 2017

I spent the day trying to find a furniture store I had been to with Jeantine on the 9th November
and the first photo was time stamped 11:41am and labeled London - West End. The other photos in this series of store visits are time stamped 1:09pm and in London - Hackney. Initially I could not get the iPhone to give me the location details and so I copied across to the laptop and using Piccasa, used their properties function to get these coordinates GPS Latitude 51 31\'24.3" N and GPS Longitude 0 8\'12.5" W But that gave me, when I tried those coordinates in Google Maps on the laptop, 3 to 4 possible locations and none seemed right. Barb offered to help and using some function on my iPhone came up with Tottenham Court Road and BoConcept at 158 Tottenham Court seemed the most viable place based on their web page photos, plus that they were not far from where we had been at the University College Hospital for an appointment that morning for Jeantine about her chemo treatment. Then I found after typing up this story in the evening, that a downward swipe of the photo showed 160 Tottenham Court Road. If only I had known of this function. (Taking time to learn these things saves wasting time later, its a bugger being impatient). Anyway, having got an address for BoConcept on Tottenham Court Road, with Jeantine at work and Cody heading off to meet Nicole at the airport, I checked Google Maps which gave me a bus to Highbury/Islington and then train to Victoria Station as the first option. So off I headed to Graham Road to catch such a bus but what should be coming along - a No 38 Bus to Victoria. Why not take the bus all the way I thought - and on I hopped. Well with congested traffic this seemed to take ages and I finally got off at Victoria Station bus stop and it was busy with reconstruction work going on and barriers up to protect pedestrians around this work, I couldn't really see where I was heading and did a complete circle and stopped to check Google Maps and it suggested I should have got off the bus a couple of blocks back on my bus journey in. Asking directions from the TFL info booth I was directed onto the 390 Bus to Archway and that took me to Tottenham Court Road. Going down to the exit door I waited past Tottencourt Train Station Stop and stepped off part way along my desired road to get briefly confused when 188 Tottenham Court Rd did not house BoConcept. Oh what to do, carry on down to Warren Street Underground Station? - and Oh, hang-on the address I wanted was 158 not 188. Got inside to be welcomed by an offer of a cup of coffee. The espresso was just right and there were the face design vases I was looking for
These were priced at £31 but reduced in a Black Friday special to £49.60 for the pair. Bundled in bubble wrap and placed on a BoConcept black carry bag, off I went out in the street, heading straight to the Warren Street Underground Station. I couldn't work out which line to take me Highbury/Islington so I asked and was told the Victoria Line on Platform 3. Off at Highbury and upstairs to the Overground Line I was familiar with and I was pleased to be getting off at Dalston Station. A quick stop for lunch goodies to share with Barb and briskly made my way to 15 Acer Road and upstairs to the warmth. Shopping and the two vases safely stored and a sense of relief as I got some lunch into me and warmth around me.
