Exploring Barb and Wendy's Calgary heritage

Thursday 21 August 2008 in Calgary, Canada
Over lunch Wendy brought out the photos that her and Barb had sorted through the night before, for taking to Shirley for help in identifying who was who. There were a number of shots of this one guy with a 'Harris girl' which initially, Shirley thought might have been Henry Senft but on reflection we settled on Cecil with Nellie.
This photo here is of Carolyn behind her mother Shirley, note Ginger, the dog getting into the photo.
After lunch we were organised into Carolyn's vehicle with Barb in the back between the two boys, Wendy and Ray in the middle and Shirley in the front, and off on our tour of previous haunts of the Calgary ancestors.
First stop was Fish Creek where the Patterson kids used to play, and then off to a number of the houses lived in by Charlie and Madge, along with Shirley's homes. We also saw a number of the schools and churchs attended by Barb's mother Audrey (and Wendy). One church looked just the same as in this old photo of Madge standing on the steps amongst her choir group. What had changed was the name of this United Church of Canada, where Audrey had got married.
